For the past couple of weeks I was in a slump and lacked that burning fire to work harder. Although I was taking a break, the rest of the world was still in full swing so every moment that I stood still I got that much farther from reaching my goals. This was serious; I had to get my motivation back and fast. So I jumped on Youtube and pulled up videos of Jim Rohn. Not only did Mr. Rohn yank me out of that slump, but he also taught me some valuable points on money management. Please take a few minutes to watch his explanation of why if you never have a plan, you will never reach your goals.
I have adopted his 70/10/10/10 rule.
70% -bills, food, whatever
10% -church, charity
10% -in my own companies
10% -in investments
He says you may have to start at 97/1/1/1 until you can straighten out your budget, but it’s still a step in the right direction.
It already helps me maintain positive thinking by knowing that I will no longer have to over think what I spend my money on, because I have a plan to divide it up and use each portion for its designated purpose.
